Marriott's Club Son Antem is conveniently located just 11 miles from Palma airport on the west coast of the island of Mallorca. This family-friendly resort is surrounded by lush, well maintained grounds giving the resort a relaxing and peaceful ambience. Sports lovers will no doubt enjoy playing on the 2 adjacent 18-hole golf courses. The East Course is ideal for high handicappers as it has flat greens and wide fairways. The west course is a little more difficult. The not quite so active members of the family can relax round the pool or take advantage of the many treatments available in the spa. Beautiful beaches and coves are close by. Shop in nearby Llucmajor for the famous Mallorcan pearls and leather goods and visit the imposing 14th-century Bellver Castle, with its mountain top monastery with stunning views. Dine in La Terrassa restaurant with views over the golf course and enjoy delicious locally inspired dishes and international classics. Pepe’s® Kid’s Club will keep the kids busy with activities and games leaving you free to relax and soak up the atmosphere and the Mallorcan sunshine.

THE ACCOMMODATION

Accommodation at Marriott's Club Son Antem is in 2 and 3 bedroom luxury townhouses, each with separate dining and living areas and well designed fully-equipped kitchens. If you wish to skip the restaurant and conjure up your own home-cooked meals, visit The Marketplace where you will find everything you need including beers, wines and spirits. Enjoy your meal on your own private patio with dining furniture and loungers and later relax in the comfortable lounge area and watch the flat screen TV or choose a DVD from the range on offer. The light and airy bathrooms boast custom vanity units and oversize baths and large mirrors.

THE AREA

Marriott's Club Son Antem is set on two adjacent golf courses located in Llucmajor, about a 10 minute drive from the airport and a 15 minute drive from the capital Palma. The courses are easy to play being built on mainly flat land.

The nearby village of Llucmajor has a thriving local community and does not rely mainly on tourism and so is fairly populated and active all year round. There is a market held three times a week, selling local produce from around the island and locally made arts and crafts. The restaurants in town cater mainly for the locals making the prices quite appealing.

A local attraction is the cave of Pas de Vallgornera. It is considered to be one of the most important caves in Mallorca and extends for some 67 kilometres of mostly unexplored caverns and tunnels. The cave was discovered back in 1968 when workmen were digging a cesspit for a new hotel.

There are many beautiful small beaches within easy reach of Club Son Antem - the nearest being the beautiful Cala Pi, a quiet beach far from mass tourism.

Bellver Castle is well worth a visit. A well-preserved 14th-century fortress surrounded by fragrant pine woods. It houses an interesting museum and has superb views over Palma Bay.
